CURRENT PROBLEMS

 

The problem of residual concrete solidifying within the mixer drum is costing the Ready Mix Concrete Industry millions of pounds every year and presents companies and owner operators with the difficult task of manual removal of 'dead' concrete using jack hammers.

 

This laborious man-entry method must be carried out in strict compliance with the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 and is restrictive on the number of hours that a man can safely work each day.

 

There is also the risk of Hand Arm Vibration injury to the operative.
